He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph and Margaret "Maggie" Gillespie Sr. (Zablackis); his brothers, Larry and Marlin; his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Heiser and Larry Emond; and his nephew Michael Heiser.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Heiser; his son Ralph Gillespie III of Peoria; his siblings, Don Gillespie of Kewanee, Leigh Gillespie (Kathleen) of Kewanee, Leslie Gillespie (Vivian) of Kewanee and Patricia "Patty" Emond of Kewanee; his siblings-in-law, Carol Robinson (Raymond) and Jim Heiser (Camie); and his grandchildren, Caden and Ryker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
