It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ralph Chism Jr. of Knoxville, Illinois, born in Galesburg, Illinois, who passed away on September 8, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Lee and Mary Louise Chism, Sr. (Peterson). He is survived by : his wife Virginia K. "Ginger" Howerter; his daughters, Cindy Olson (Dave) of Galesburg and Cheryl Weir (Daryl) of Knoxville; his sister Beth Wright of Galesburg; his granddaughters, Lisa Deppermann (Beau), Lindsay Benedict (Blake), Jenna Meister (Tim) and Emily Varner (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Mason, Haydon, Vail, Jackson, Jace and Joslyn.
Memorials may be made to the Knoxville United Methodist Church or to the Knoxville Athletic Department.
