He was predeceased by : his wife Madeline Carmichael; his parents, Robert Carmichael and Mary Carmichael; and his siblings, Robert Carmichael and Judith Hurd.

He is survived by : his sons, Tony Carmichael, Thomas Carmichael (Donna) and Joseph Carmichael (Marcy); his grandchildren, Richard, Megan, Kate, Jill and Adam; and his great grandchildren, Aurora, Violet, William, Kaylee and Owen. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
