He is survived by: his spouse Hazel Fern Shelby; his daughters, Jean Carter (Dennis) of Lincoln, IL and Barbara Trago (Allen) of Clinton, IL; and his grandchildren, Angela Slayton, John Carter (Karen), Cathy Hickman (Bryan) and Christy Trago Thayer. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Southern, IL and one sister-in-law.
