We are sad to announce that on April 22, 2020, at the age of 99, Claudean Mathis (Louisville, Illinois) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter H. Downing and Cordelia Downing (Sledd); her husband Rev. J. L. Mathis; her children, Thomas Mathis (Sharon), Jim Mathis, Maretta Mathis and Ladonna; and her siblings, Mary Jane Miller, Henrietta "Eddo" Downing, William Bryan Downing, John Seldon Downing, Martha Emma Lou Baker and Evelyn Dunnigan.

She is survived by : her grandsons, Josh Mathis of Louisville and Tim Mathis of Louisville. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
