He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Wayne, Mary Compton, Junior and Ruth Cushman; and his grandfather-in-law Lorraine Kuenstler.

He is survived by : his parents, Richard Lyle Compton (Regeana) of Effingham and Cheryl Lynn Compton (Cushman) of Swansea; his wife Trisha Compton of Louisville; his children, Jack and Mia Compton of Louisville; his brother Nate Compton (Astrid) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; his stepsiblings, Clint Knierim (Jill) of Effingham and Ashley Grigg (Jeremy) of Effingham; his parents-in-law, Matt and Deb Kuenstler of Louisville; his grandparents-in-law, Ranard and Betty Greenwood of Flora; and his siblings-in-law, Jancie Kessler (Clint) of Louisville and Josh Kuenstler (Megan) of Altamont. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and good friends.

Memorial donations are suggested for the benefit of Nick's children's education and will be accepted through the funeral home at any time.
