He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard L. McDonald and Nathalia Schmidgall. He is survived by: his wife Lois Denhart; his children, Connie Chandler (Roy) of Avon, Brenda Kindilien (Scott) of Creve Coeur and Ed McDonald (Carla) of Deer Creek; and his stepchildren, Teresa Heinold of Missouri, Barb Long of Glenview and Dean Long (Roz) of Mackinaw. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, five step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to his church or Mackinaw Rescue Squad.
