He was loved and cherished by many people including : his mother Carol Newman; his siblings, JoAnne Baumgartner (Ron), Mike Newman (Nicole), Linda Esenther (Dan) and Mary Gile (Brian); and his father Marion Newman. He was also cherished by his 14 nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Mackinaw Rescue Squad or St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hopedale.
