He was predeceased by: his siblings, Pius "Wendell", Richard, Harold "Babe", Jim, Norris, Lois Haney, Ann Coven and Wanda Himmell.

He is survived by: his spouse Marva Johnson; his children, Randy Wherley of Lafayette and Diana Moore of Industry; his grandchildren, Michael Wherley, Adam Wherley, Jeremy Moore and Brandon Wherley; and his sister Peggy Ross of Nixa.
