He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Guthrie and Ruth Evelyn Guthrie (Herron); his stepfather Willie David Prater; and his siblings, Wilma Haenitsch, Mary Sutton, Helen Hendrix, Goldie Hedrick, Juanita Akers, Bernice, Cletus Hedrick and Clyde Hedrick.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Cooper (James) of Plymouth, Rose Guthrie of Plymouth, John Guthrie (Echo) of Plymouth and Randy Guthrie (Beulah) of Sterling; and also Annette Hawkins (Scott Parker) of Industry. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
