He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Murell and Vernus Darlene Purdy (Harding). He is survived by: his former wife Donna Barry; his children, Timothy Purdy (Theresa) of LaHarpe, Denise Chase of Stronghurst, Debbie Blue (Sean) of Spartanburg, SC and Angela Purdy of Burlington, Iowa.; his wife Connie Newman; his grandchildren, Riley Blue of Spartanburg, SC, Jackson Chase of Stronghurst, Carson Purdy of LaHarpe, Jenna, Jordan Gound of Warsaw and Kade Ruebush of Macomb; and his sister Aldena Everhart (Rod) of Keller, Texas..
Memorials may be made to Wesley Village for a bench in the Wesley garden as Lynn and Connie spent many hours there enjoying the garden and walking trails.
