She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen A. Smith and Velma Smith (Golden); and her husband Gayle L. Nelson. She is survived by: her daughter Gayla Lewis (Walt) of Blandinsville, Illinois; and her grandsons, Ross Lewis and Philip Lewis (Rachel).

Memorials may be directed to Wesley Village in Macomb, Illinois or the McDonough District Hospital Hospice.
