He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Richard Stanley and Ethel May Buren (Moss); his wife Betty Jean Scofield; and his children, William S. "Rusty" Buren of Cuba, Missouri, Fran Long of New Meadows, Idaho, Linda Peacock (John) of San Benito, Texas, Steve Buren of Panama City, Florida, John Buren (Hazel) of Macomb, Illinois and Mary Miller (Carl) of Wendell. He was also cherished by 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The Toys For Tots program and the Smiles.
