He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gunderson and Edith Gunderson; his siblings, Marion Montgomery and Marty Sasman; and his siblings' children, Laura Heilbrun and Roger Heal.

He is survived by: his sibling's children, Craig Montgomery and Diane Peterson.
