He was predeceased by: his parent Cornelius J.; and his siblings, Agnes Cleary, Dorothy Mavis and Charles. He is survived by: his parent Agnes Murphy; his sister Mary Kearney; and his sibling's children, Thomas Kearney (Diane), Harold Kearney (Linda), Juliann Follis (Tom), Connie Secor (Bryon), Kathy Mechler (Jim), Debbie Barr (Jim), Robert Mavis (Kelly), Deanna Hieman (Greg) and David Mavis (Anne).
