He was predeceased by: his parents, Max A. Butler and Anna Augusta Butler (Mueller); and his sister Shirley Brown. He is survived by: his children, Max H. Butler (Tina) of Johnston City, Pamela Ann Brandon of Mt. Vernon, Deborah Lynn Conaway (Jerry) of Granbury, TX and Patrick William Butler of Belleville; his grandchildren, Amy Jackson, Heather Butler, Devin McGowan, Michael Butler, Matthew Butler, Nicholas Butler, Nicole Everett and Erin Leita; and his siblings, Katherine Ogden of Ohio, Bertha Smith of Collinsville, Dorothy Anglin of Litchfield, Carol Stahlheber of Caseyville and Charles Butler of Cahokia. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
