He was predeceased by: his parents, Guyer Burton and Iona Eudith Thompson (Nelson); his former wife Rita Alice Vandorn of Ottawa; and his sisters, Loraine Neurohr, Doris Shelton and Betty Duvall.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Benson Cook of Ottawa; his children, Kenneth Thompson of Marseilles and Catherine Grubar (Terry) of Mackinaw, IL; his grandchildren, Ryné Koepple (Aaron), Julie Grubar, Erik (Janet), Lisa and Adam Thompson; and his great grandchildren, Gabby, Mara Beth, Charlie-Jean Koepple, Brody and Elly Thompson.
A Celebration of Life for the public will be held at a later date when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
