With profound sadness, we say goodbye to David Greeson of Mattoon, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. David left this world on July 10, 2025 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. In the vast expanse of eternity, David shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid David farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dexter Leon and Iva Gertrude Greeson (Carruthers); and his wife Dona Louise Woolery. He is survived by: his sons, Craig Greeson of Mount Prospect, IL and Chris Greeson of Mattoon, IL; his granddaughter Xylia Greeson of Mattoon, IL; his sister Nancy Renshaw; and his niece Martha Roman.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Schilling Funeral Home (1301 Charleston Ave, Mattoon, IL 61938). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to the Lake Land College Foundation.
