She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel Smith; her children, Zellorine McMurtry and Lois Jean Smith; and her parents, Walter Johnson and Katie Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Earlene Hughes (Charles), Samuel E. Smith (Dawn), Ernest J. Smith and McKinley Smith; her grandchildren, Shannon, Terrence, Trinette, Nicole, Sam Lee, Leona and Sharice; her great grandchildren, Selena, Joe, Jordan, Nevaeh and Sariyah; her siblings, Earlene, Celia, Bennie and Melvin; and also, Walter Jr., Robert Lee, Eddie and Jimmie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Russo's Hillside Chapels (4500 Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL 60162). A burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
