It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edith Margaret Stewart Nimsgern (McHenry, Illinois), who passed away on October 8, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Stewart and Eleanor Stewart (Wheeler); her husband Lawrence Nimsgern; her daughter Margaret Zimmerman; and her siblings, Mary Hallen, Gertrude Stewart, Jessie Barber, Ada Townsend, Harry, Lee, Ralph, Russell and Tom Stewart.
She is survived by: her sons, Scott (Leni) and Frank (Bernie); and her grandchildren, Frank Nimsgern (Dawn), Michelle Klein (Larry), Becky Zimmerman (Travis Glay), Dan Zimmerman, Sherri Turner (Philip Ferrell), Steven Larson (Kristen) and Michelle Saling (Scott). She is also survived by great-grandchildren; and one very dear great-great-granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, Edith's wishes were to have memorials in her name to the Northwestern Medicine-McHenry Hospital Auxiliary, Nursing Scholarships, 4201 Medical Center Drive, McHenry, IL 60050 or to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, Memorials and Honors Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
