He was predeceased by: his former wife Helen Bacon; and his sister Diane Ballotti. He is survived by: his spouse Marion; his sons, Charles Bacon (Lannette) and Howard James Bacon; his stepchildren, Scott Rein, Cheryl Watson (William) and Beth Preston (John); his grandchildren, Addie, Austin Bacon, Brittany, Jacob, Jenna Trione, Colin, Ryan Preston, Sophia and Lily Watson; and his brother Scott Bacon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lester's name may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 3717 W Main Street, McHenry, IL 60050.
