He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Daniel Fitzgerald and Nellie Fitzgerald (Powers); his children, Kathleen Fitzgerald, Daniel Fitzgerald (Margaret), Robert Fitzgerald (Angela), Edward Fitzgerald (Winnie), Marianne Fitzgerald and Colleen Fitzgerald (Bill Hayes); his grandchildren, Emily Fitzgerald-DaValle (Mike DaValle), Sarah, Haley, Laura and Matthew Fitzgerald; his great grandchildren, Greyson and Finn DaValle; and his wife Gerri.

He enjoyed donating his time helping others and spent countless hours collecting donations on candy day for the Lions Club.
