It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Thompson of Mendota, Illinois, who passed away on November 19, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Phyllis Thompson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, McKinley Eshelman and Vonda Eshelman; her husband Floyd Thompson; her siblings, Joseph, William (late Dorothe), Paul (late Delora), Richard (late Betty), Vernon Eshelman, Josephine Eshelman and Marcia Horine; and her brothers-in-law, David Alexander and Cecil Fors.
She is survived by: her daughters, Margo Gamble of Sharpsburg, Kim Van Rheenen (Kenny) of Mendota and Diana Watts (Kevin) of LeClaire, Iowa; her siblings, Marilyn Alexander of North Carolina, Ruth Kubinsky (Marion) of Kewanee, Barbara Fors of Woodhull and Philip Eshelman (Lois) of Ankeny, Iowa; her sister-in-law Roseanne Eshelman; and her grandchildren, Ryan Gamble of Sharpsburg, Kristopher Watts (Melinda) of Lisle, Allison Watts of LeClaire, Travis Van Rheenen of Kirkland and Logan Van Rheenen of Annawan. She is also survived by one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the micro-pantry at the First Presbyterian Church, which offers food to anyone who needs it.
