It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Opal Sassman (Minier, Illinois), born in Mulberry Grove, Illinois, who passed away on March 20, 2013, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Evans and Bernice Elmore Evans. She is survived by: her husband Donald Helm; her daughters, Vicki Siltman (Ivan) of Minier, Debra White of Minier and Donna Mallicoat of Normal; and her siblings, Marie Elkins of Ballwin, MO, Beryl Sublette of Aurora, CO and Robert Evans (Minnie) of Vandalia, IL.. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to her church or Minier Rescue Squad.
