He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Patricia Berna (Gasik); his stepchildren, Patricia Rickman (Ronald) and Steven Kowalewicz (Jody); his daughters, Kimberly Johnson and Paula Reicheldorfer (LJ); his siblings, Doris Eastman (Tom) and Dee Dee Kruse (Tom); his grandchildren, Kendra Berna, Shannon Johnson, Katrina Easton, Zariah Johnson, Tessa Rickman, Sam Rickman, Zachary Kowalewicz and Breanna Kowalewicz; and his great grandchildren, Edward and Remington.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or the National Wildlife Refuge System in his name would be appreciated.
