He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack L. Hoopes, Sr. and Sarah E. Mortimer (Wade); his stepfather Raymond Mortimer; his sister Sheila Cathell; and his grandson Darion Smith.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Roger Swank; his daughters, Ashley Griffin of Monmouth, IL and Lanette Hoopes of Galesburg, IL; his grandchildren, Mhylkah Griffin, Noreana Griffin, Winter Cooper, Carmelo Berry and Emiear Berry; and his siblings, Angie Hoopes of Monmouth, IL, Jacqueline Hoopes of Monmouth, IL, Janet Lewark (David) of Glendale, AZ, Rebecca Swank Wilson of Monmouth, IL, Paul Wilson (Terri) of Summerville, SC, Rodney Hoopes (Jodi) of Kirkwood, IL and Eddie Willett of Monmouth, IL.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church (1000 S 1st St, Monmouth, IL 61462). A celebration of life was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials can be made to the Jack Hoopes Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home.
