He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilbert Plegge and Laura Gusewelle Plegge. He is survived by: his wife Linda Flynn; his children, Pamela Kleckner (Eric) of Staunton, IL, Jeanne Schultz (Jeff) of Godfrey, IL and David Plegge (Nicole) of Glen Carbon, IL; his grandchildren, Seth, Ryan Kleckner, Megan, Brent Schultz, Mia and Kate Plegge; his sister Alice Gunderson (Loren) of Bethalto, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Harold and Mary Flynn of Raymond, IL. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Preschool in Bethalto or the Zion Lutheran Preschool in Staunton.
