He was predeceased by: his parents, George Yangas and Edna Yangas; and his sister Nancy Lakotich. He is survived by: his son Nick Yangas (Kristen); his grandchildren, Kayte and Nikolas Yangas; and his brother-in-law Gary Lakotich. He is also survived by extended family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Re; ACT Foundation or the Illinois Firefighter Peer Support Group would be appreciated.
