He was predeceased by : his parents, Cecil Grimes and Myrtie Blanche Grimes (Jackson); his brother Jesse Grimes; and his granddaughter Stacey Hargrave. He is survived by : his wife Pearl Lavona Shutz; his son James "Jim" Leon Grimes, Jr. (Lindsey) of Mt. Prospect, Illinois; his stepsons, Floyd Dale Hargrave (Penny) of McLeansboro and Alex Schmidt (Eric) of Olney, Illinois; his grandchildren, Jackson, Brooklyn Grimes, Misty, Dale, Amanda, Andrew, Jake, Joe and Hunter; and his sister Beulah Mason of Bloomington, Illinois.. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
COVID-19 precautions, wearing of face coverings, social distancing and use of hand sanitizer is recommended. The family requests that all visitors wear masks.
His family requests that donations in Jim's memory be given to the American Heart Association.
