He was predeceased by: his mother Lois Ann Benson (Carter). He is survived by: his father John Benson of Saint Louis, Missouri; his children, Ali Benson of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Seth Benson of Mount Vernon and Zachary Whobrey of Benton, Illinois; and his sisters, Rhonda Koeler and Brenda Fields.
