She was predeceased by: her parents, Buford Cherry and Bertha Cherry (Jones); her husband Paul Burkey; and her brother Harold "Minendell" Cherry. She is survived by: her children, DeAnn Lineberry of Richmond, VA, Richard A. Burkey (Wanda Burkey) of Wagener, SC and Margaret Jane Burkey of Aiken, SC; her grandchildren, Michael Burkey of Kingsport, TN, Stephanie Horsley (Barry Horsley) of Boynton Beach, FL and Justin Lineberry of RIchmond, VA; her stepgrandchildren, Beth Simmons of Aiken, SC and Ronald Henderson of Charleston, SC; her great grandchildren, Kylie Smith (Dylan), Grace Plette, Arden Plette, Ada Burkey, Gibson Burkey, Alexis Simmons and Naomi Simmons; and her great great grandchild Emersyn Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elm Street Baptist Church.
