He is survived by: his wife Sadarni Rajinder Kaur Birk; his sibling Gurcharan Singh Birk; his children, Maninder Singh Birk (Harbinder Kaur Birk), Sukhminder Kaur Singh (Hargurmukhpal Singh) and Inderjit Kaur Bawa (Bhupinder Singh Bawa); and his grandchildren, Dilpreet Singh, Amarbir Singh, Gurmeet Singh Bawa, Ajaypal Singh, Gurpreet Singh Birk, Harmeet Singh Bawa, Mundeep Singh Bawa and Surina Kaur Birk.
