He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Scheppele and Charlotte Scheppele; and his stepson Eric Peaden. He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his daughters, Carolyn Swafford of DeKalb, IL and Susan Scheppele of Houston, TX; and his grandchildren, Elaina Swafford of DeKalb, IL, Hayley Bakovic (Davor) of Jenks, OK., Brynlee Peaden of Jenks, OK. and Cadence Kramer of Jenks, OK..
