It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virgil J. Heckenkemper of New Baden, Illinois, who passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Frank; his parents-in-law, Tony and Regina Gebke; and his siblings-in-law, Daniel Toennies, Tom Gebke, Bob Jansen, Edwin Gebke, Bobby Gebke, Tony Gebke, Jr. and Theresa Jansen.
He is survived by: his wife Regina Gebke; his sons, Kevin Heckenkemper (Donna) of New Baden and Brian Heckenkemper (Julie) of New Baden; his grandchildren, Devin Heckenkemper (Lauren), Alex Heckenkemper (Denae), Austin Heckenkemper (Courtney) and Brianna Heckenkemper (Brandon Kuhl); his great grandchildren, Owen, Perry, Quinton, MaKenna and Brody Heckenkemper; his sister Myrtle Toennies of New Baden; and his siblings-in-law, Whitey Gebke, Gene, Joann Gebke, Ruth "Boots" Gebke and Dolly Gebke.
