She was predeceased by : her parents, Joe Barthelme and Marjorie Barthelme (Strutner). She is survived by : her husband Tom Rubsam of Newton; her sons, Doug Rubsam of Newton and Andy (Sara Rubsam) of East Lansing; her grandchildren, Carley, Kyle, James and Audrey; and her siblings, Ed Barthelme (Diana) of Aiken, Robert Barthelme (Carolyn) of Newton, Illinois, Marsha Boyle (Mike) of St. Louis, Missouri, John Barthelme of Olney and Tom Barthelme (Renee) of Newton.

In loving memory of Janyce, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas Catholic School.
