It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel D. Carter of Newton, Illinois, who passed away on April 25, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Samuel Nick and Lenora Mae Carter (Finn); and his sister Donna Davis. He is survived by : his wife Linda Carter of Newton; his daughter Peggy Laugel (Scott) of Newton; his grandchildren, Jennifer Roewe (Kevin) of Effingham, Illinois, Victoria Ochs (Jason) of Newton, Illinois, Dustin Laugel (Sierra) of Robinson and Dylan Laugel of Newton; his great grandchildren, Dylan Roewe (Rachel), Ben Roewe, Nick Roewe, Luke Roewe, Meg Roewe, Haley Ochs, Heidi Ochs and Colton Ochs; and his great great grandchildren, Ava Roewe and Derek Roewe.

In loving memory of Sam, memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church in Newton, Illinois.
