She is survived by: her mother Linda Mertens (Mertens) of Newton, Illinois; and her siblings, Paul Degand (Sandi) of Newton, Illinois, Michael Degand (Monica) of Newton, Illinois, Belinda Kubicki (Joe) of Stickney, Illinois, Andrew Scates (Emily) of Oakwood, Illinois, Joseph Scates (Teresa) of Solon Springs and David Scates of Rose Hill.
