He was predeceased by: his parents, Wojciech Garbal and Marianna Garbal; and his siblings, Jozef, Stanislaw, Karol, Bronislawa, Eugeniusz and Marianna.

He is survived by: his wife Zofia Garbal; his daughter Justine Flynn (Michael A.); and his grandchildren, Alexander M. Flynn, Peter S. Flynn and Stefanie M. Flynn.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Friends of Maryhaven, 1700 East Lake Avenue, Glenview, IL 60025.
