He was predeceased by: his parents, Esther Brendel and Robert Brendel. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Hartwick; his children, Lora Poucher (Edward), Marcia Asdal, Robert Jr. (Xia Kui), Janet Carey (Clark) and Gail Viechnicki (Peter); and his siblings, Merilyn Burgess and Richard Brendel (Anne). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Anderson Memorial Home & Heartland Cremation Services (21131 W Renwick Rd, Plainfield, IL 60544). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Christ Church (501 Oak Brook Rd, Oak Brook, IL 60523).
