He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Carol; his children, Karen Ahern (Dan), James Konieczny, Richard Konieczny (Dawn), Robert Konieczny and Kathy Hoolehan; his grandchildren, Michael (Colleen), Robert (Kate), Kevin, Lauren, James, Brittany, Danielle, Richard, Lillian, Timothy, Robbie, Kate and Zoe; his great grandchildren, Grace, Riley, Ellie, Braden and Aiden; his siblings, Tom Konieczny (Maureen), MaryAnn Meyer and Diane Paulini (late Ken); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Bienias (Ray), Butch Sefcik and Rick Shipbaugh. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made towards JDRF and Mercy Home For Boys and Girls.
