He was predeceased by : his parents, William T. Grimes and Mary R. Grimes (Clapp); his daughter-in-law Dianne Grimes; his sisters, Darlene Miller and Ruth Goodwin Powell; and his brothers-in-law, Ted Miller, Tom Goodwin and Carl Powell.

He is survived by : his wife Nancy Grimes of Oakwood; his sons, Dean Grimes (Kelly Cundiff) of Rossville, IL and Dan Grimes (Carri) of Seymour, IN; his brother Bob Grimes (Nancy) of Oakwood, IL; and his grandchildren, Megan Grimes of Fishers, IN, Tom Grimes (Wendy) of Milford, CT and Gavin Grimes of Seymour, IN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
