He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Blackford and Jennie Blackford (Clark); and his siblings, Sherman, Opal Stivers and Elsia Clark.

He is survived by: his wife Louise Steidner. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

It is requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.
