He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Hicks; and his son Patrick J. Hicks. He is survived by: his wife Susan Hicks of Oregon; his mother Charlotte Wyrick (Smick) of Rochelle; his stepchildren, Michael Greve (Priscilla Young) of Dixon, Michelle Greve of Oregon and Mark Greve (Jackie) of Dixon; and his siblings, Ronald Hicks (Jennifer) of Ark, Donald Hicks (Dottie) of Va, Lonald Hicks (Kayla) of Va, Tammie Powell (Bruce) of Rochelle, Ralph Sanders (Tanna) of Va and Tom Sanders (Rachel) of Va. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
