With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Steven Hempel (Palos Heights, Illinois), who passed away on July 15, 2019 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Scott Hempel; his parents, Edwin Hempel and Rita Hempel; and his stepfather Paul Griesbach. He is survived by: his son Steven Hempel; his sister Judith Twardy (Joseph); his nieces and nephews, Jamie Twardy, Jessica Narum (Trevor) and Johanna Kumke (Christopher); and his stepsiblings, Paul Griesbach Jr., Gary Griesbach (Diane), Cyndie Fidanze (Steven) and Gina Welsh (Michael).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Red Cross would be appreciated.
