It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvester Flood of Orland Park, Illinois, who passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Christy and Anne; his siblings, Jim, Mary, Brian and Anne; and his son Michael.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Rita"; his children, Anne Shostack (John), Tom (Christine), Sylvester (Belle) and Jim (Kara); his siblings, Tom, Mike, Christy, Jack and Elizabeth Sheehan; his grandchildren, Carly, Katie, Margaret, Caitlin, Dylan, Alex, Jack, Audrey, Eli, Liam, Charlotte, Abigail and Patrick; and his great grandchildren, Brayden, Breana, Wyatt and Callan.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kerry Funeral Home (7020 W 127th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A prayer was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Saint Alexander Church (7025 W 126th St, Palos Heights, IL 60463). A burial was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803).
In lieu of flowers, donations to Marist High School would be appreciated.
