He was predeceased by : his parents, Casimir Galas and Julia Galas (Seabeck); his wife Janice; and his brother Raymond Galas. He is survived by : his friend Dolores Hardy; his children, Cynthia Halko (Rick) of Salem, WI, Cheri Faletto (Jon) of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Christine Schweickert (Jerry) of Peru and James Galas (Donna) of Batavia; his grandchildren, Ricky Halko, Angela Shaw (Brad), Steven Faletto (Kelsey), Rachel Faletto, Adam Schweickert, Lainie Schweickert, Antonia Galas, Nathan Galas and Jacob Galas; and his great grandchildren, Alyssa, Alivia and Claira Jan.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Margaret's Hospice, St. Bede Academy or Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
