He was predeceased by: his parents, Marguerite Johnston and Lawrence Johnston; and his brother Gerald Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Elva Martell Johnston; his children, Mark Johnston (Gloria) of Rockford, Mary Craig (Thomas) of Occoquan, Virginia, Marie Richards (Greg) of Cincinnati and Matt Johnston (Gabrielle) of Columbus; and his sister Deb Johnston of Kankakee, Illinois.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
