She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Erle Hallbauer and Grace Hallbauer (Bigham) of Cutler, IL.; her husband Mervin Smith; her sister Jean Campbell; her children, Bill Smith (Sally) of Jackson, TN, Bob Smith (Pat) of Cutler, IL, Kathryn Kuhnert (Kevin) of Pinckneyville, IL and Jim Smith of Pinckneyville, IL.; her great grandchildren, Jarett, Zachary, Ian, Cassi Smith, Caleb Smith (Clarissa), Joshua Smith (Heather), Emma Wilson (Michael), Thomas, Will, Laura, Grace Smith, Hannah, Seth, Micah, Jonah Hughes, Nathan Smith, Stephen, David, Andrew, Blayne Wagner, Kadence, Kaitlyn, Kamryn Kuhnert, Jacob, Caden, Sadie Heisner, Nicolas and Halle Warder; her son Shinya Miyata; her granddaughter Esther Roy; and her sister Fern Shannon (Claude). She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the executive order signed by Governor J. B. Pritzker, phase four attendance will be limited to 50 people and social distancing will be enforced.
