She was predeceased by: her parents, Rex Young and Fadra Young (Robertson); her husband Ron Smith; her brother Ronald Young; and her brother-in-law Lloyd Schneider.

She is survived by: her children, Doug Smith (Erin) of Evanston, IL and Kristin Smith Doherty of Princeton, IL; her stepchildren, Deborah Smith of Princeton, IL and Daniel Smith (Paula) of Sebring, FL; her grandchildren, Lucas, Nicolette Smith, Liam Ardon, Ainsley Doherty, Jennifer Rano, Bronson Lackey, Chancellor, Dakota and Korianne Smith; her great grandchildren, Cassidy, Frank, III, Lily, Charlotte, Max, Ben and Isabella; her sister Shirley Young Hudson; her sisters-in-law, Beverly Schneider of Princeton and Michelle Young of Alabama; and her friends, Janeen Korody and Barbara Hansen. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
