He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Olsen and Agnes Olsen (Johansen); his sister Delores; his brother-in-law Art Hinrichs; his brother Duane; and his siblings-in-law, Beverly Olsen and Don Morphew.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou; his sons, Jeff Olsen (Jo Dee) of Prophetstown and Kurt Olsen (Kris) of Port Byron, IL; his grandchildren, Jessica Olsen-Howard (Conrad), Kent Olsen (Anna), Kody Olsen (Angela Vann), Kassidy Olsen (Dylan Brown) and Kase Olsen (Hannah Malmgren); and his siblings-in-law, Burdette Sandrock (Dea) and Barbara Morphew. He is also survived by One great great grandchild on the way; several nieces and nephews.
Memorials to First Lutheran Church of Prophetstown and the American Cancer Society have been established.
